It was almost like a walk-off grand-slam home run from your favorite slugger — or at least a bases-clearing single — for an unlikely win.
The stock market’s turnaround on Thursday was notable for producing the sharpest reversal for the three main U.S. equity benchmarks in months, with the Nasdaq Composite Index COMP, +1.09% , logging its best turnaround — from a 1% decline to a 1% gain — since April 4, 2018, according to Dow Jones Market Data.
The Nasdaq had dropped by as many as 85.25 points, or 1.095%, to a intraday nadir of 7,700, before pivoting to advance 1.12%, or 87 points, to mark a powerful about-face and a stunning victory for the bulls.
